Philippians 4: Joy and Phronéō

Philippians 4: Joy and Phronéō

Phroeō is a word Paul uses several times in his letter to the Philippians. It is a way of thinking, feeling and acting. Paul encourages us to think, feel and act in the way of Jesus, becoming more and more who we were created to be. Joy is a significant aspect of thinking, feeling and acting in the way of Jesus. It is not some forced or fake happiness, rather it is waking up to the reality of a way of life in God that is possible even in the midst of great hardship. Joy is recognizing life as a gift from God and living in gratitude to God for God’s many good gifts to us. Join us as we explore the end of this letter together.
