Birds, Flowers and the Kingdom Way

Birds, Flowers and the Kingdom Way

Passage: Matthew 6:25-34

Teacher: Matt Krick

Series: 3 Years with Jesus: Teachings from Jesus

Detail:

Discussion Questions:

What resonated most with you about this passage and teaching?

What do you worry about?

What do you think about the statement, “whatever you give your attention to is the thing that governs your life.” Where is your attention, where is your focus, what are you distracted by, what keeps you up at night, what are the things running away in your life?

When we take time to focus on the created order, anxiety/worry/stress goes down…In what ways have you found this to be true?

What worries do you find difficult to release? What does it look like to ask Jesus to help us to let it go? How does it feel like freedom when we let worry go?

When people think of Christians, they should think: “Oh, those are the people who love those who hurt them, who bless those who oppose them, who feed the hungry, provide clean drinking water for those who don’t have it, care for the sick, visit prisoners and outcasts, care for the poor and marginalized, and they don’t worry about anything because the earth is their teacher and they stare at birds and flowers and they trust their God.” Is that what the world thinks of Christians…. Why or why not? How can that be changed?

In what ways do you hope to integrate elements of this text into your life this week?
