Following Jesus in Everyday Life

Category: Discipleship

Discussion Questions:

What resonated most with you about this passage and teaching?

How might seeing repentance as a “coming home” instead of a “shame on you” mentality affect how we view and share the gospel?

Do you think if the disciples knew the future reality of the cross they would have still immediately followed Jesus? If you knew all the hardships  that have passed or are to come in your own life, would you still move toward them?

What sort of daily things make it difficult to heed the command of Jesus’ “follow me” How might we follow better in those instances? What does it look like moment by moment to say yes?

How do you feel about the quote “the sacred is present in the ordinary. Every moment matters because life is holy. God speaks to us in the ordinary and routine”

What is Jesus inviting you to leave and let go of today/this week/this month? What is Jesus inviting you to say yes to today/this week/this month?

In what ways do you hope to integrate elements of this text into your life this week?
