"What do you want me to do for you?"

"What do you want me to do for you?"

Passage: Luke 18:35-43

Teacher: Dave Nixon

Series: 3 Years with Jesus: Wonders

Discussion Questions:

What resonated most with you about this passage and teaching?

Dave observed that certain things seem to "move" Jesus to heal? What do you think about that? Are these things part of your prayer life? Do you want them to be?: Need, desperation, persistence, unconventional measures, having no other options.

What discourages you from praying? What are your thoughts about that?

Why did Jesus ask the blind man "What do you want me to do for you?"

Talk about the "now and the not yet". How do we know which is which? How does this affect how we pray, and what we pray for?

What did Dave mean when he said, "sometimes the kingdom of God will come crashing in to the now"?

Dave made a distinction between "things we want" and "the deep longings of our hearts." What is the difference? What are some examples of each? How aware are you of yours? How do we become more aware? How would our world be different if more people were in touch with theirs?

In what ways do you hope to integrate elements of this text into your life this week?
