This is a fun opportunity to hear stories read aloud -- something we all enjoyed as kids, but you don't have to be a kid to enjoy it.

As the tradition goes, we’re reading stories written by the 19th century Scottish writer, George MacDonald - a huge favorite around here. We’ll also be reading a tale by J.R.R. Tolkien called Leaf by Niggle — which we’ll start with this week.

MacDonald’s stories are known for being highly imaginative and full of a deep, yet accessible wisdom. As a writer, he was a true innovator, and had a significant influence on Lewis Carroll, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams, and Madeleine L’Engle.
